Discover the heart of the Eastern Himalayas on this 9-day, 8-night journey through Gangtok, Pelling, and Darjeeling. Begin with four nights in Gangtok, Sikkim's charming capital, where you'll venture to the high-altitude Tsomgo Lake and the sacred Baba Harbhajan Mandir amid snow-capped peaks over 12,000 feet, spend a full day exploring city landmarks including Tashi View Point, Hanuman Tok, Ganesh Tok, Bakthang Falls, Do-Dul Chorten, and the historic Enchey Monastery, and take an excursion to Namchi Char Dham, a striking pilgrimage site at 5,500 feet featuring replica shrines of India's four sacred Dhams along with a nearby monument on Solophok hill. Next, unwind for two nights in the serene hill town of Pelling, where you'll marvel at Kanchenjunga's peaks from the glass-floored Skywalk, visit the centuries-old Pemayangtse Monastery and the Chenrezig Statue, then explore Rimbi Waterfalls, the sacred Khecheopalri Lake, Kanchenjunga Waterfalls, and the historic Rabdentse Ruins, once the capital of the Sikkim kingdom. Conclude your journey with two nights in Darjeeling, the "Queen of the Hills," rising before dawn for the iconic sunrise view from Tiger Hill before continuing to Ghoom Monastery, the spiralling Batasia Loop, and Tenzing-Gombu Rock, then visiting the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre, the Japanese Peace Pagoda, and the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, before taking in sweeping views across a Darjeeling tea estate. Throughout your trip, enjoy comfortable hotel stays and private, point-to-point transfers and sightseeing, with no sharing your vehicle or schedule with other travelers.
