Tour Overview

Discover the diverse landscapes of Sikkim on this 9-day, 8-night journey through Gangtok, Lachen, Lachung, and Pelling. Spend your first days in Gangtok, Sikkim's lively capital, where you'll venture to the high-altitude Tsomgo Lake and the sacred Baba Harbhajan Mandir amid snow-capped peaks above 12,000 feet, then explore the city's landmarks on a full sightseeing day covering Tashi View Point, Hanuman Tok, Ganesh Tok, Bakthang Falls, Do-Dul Chorten, and the historic Enchey Monastery. From there, head north into the remote villages of Lachen and Lachung, tucked into Sikkim's high mountain country, where private transfers carry you through dramatic mountain roads and the pace slows considerably, leaving you free to soak in the surrounding scenery and mountain lifestyle at your own leisure before continuing on. In Lachung, rise early for a visit to Yumthang Valley, the "Valley of Flowers," known for its Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary and natural hot springs, before returning to Gangtok for the night. Finally, journey west to Pelling, where a full day of sightseeing takes you to the centuries-old Pemayangtse Monastery, the Chenrezig Statue, and the Skywalk offering sweeping Kanchenjunga views, followed by Rimbi Waterfalls, the sacred Khecheopalri Lake, Kanchenjunga Waterfalls, and the historic Rabdentse Ruins, once the capital of the Sikkim kingdom. Throughout the trip, enjoy comfortable hotel stays and private, point-to-point transfers and sightseeing, with no sharing your vehicle or schedule with other travelers. From alpine lakes and remote mountain villages to ancient monasteries, waterfalls, and panoramic valley views, this itinerary offers a genuine cross-section of Sikkim's natural beauty, mountain culture, and Himalayan heritage in one memorable journey through some of the state's most striking terrain.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this package actually include Gurudongmar Lake?

Read this before booking. The inclusions list names "Chopta Valley and Gurudongmar Lake" as part of this package, but the confirmed day-by-day itinerary doesn't schedule it anywhere — Day 4 (Lachen) and Day 5 (Lachung) are both listed as transfer-plus-free-time, with no guided excursion to Gurudongmar Lake at all. If this lake is why you're considering this package (it usually is), get written confirmation from your agent that it's genuinely on the itinerary before you pay — don't rely on the inclusions list alone.

What's the price, and what does "starting from" actually mean?

₹29,728 per person on twin sharing is the starting-from figure actual cost depends on your travel dates, group size, and room category. Confirm exact pricing before booking.

Are the Gangtok sightseeing spots open every day of the week?

No the Research Institute of Tibetology and Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom close Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Lasa Falls is the substitute stop on those days.

What actually happens on the Lachung–Yumthang Valley day?

An early-morning visit to Yumthang Valley (Valley of Flowers) at 11,800 ft, known for the Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary (blooms April–June) and nearby hot springs, followed by breakfast and the return drive to Gangtok. This is one of the few genuinely detailed and confirmed days on the North Sikkim leg.

Is this trip good for someone who gets altitude sickness easily?

Worth thinking about even without a confirmed Gurudongmar Lake day — Tsomgo Lake alone reaches 12,400 ft, which can cause headaches or breathlessness in some travelers. If altitude sensitivity is a concern, mention it to your agent regardless of what North Sikkim sightseeing ends up being confirmed.

Are there any hotel charges not included in the package price?

Yes — the Pelling hotel (Sumitel Pelling) charges a ₹300 per night heating fee, payable directly at the property, not included in your package cost.
