This Sri Lanka 8 Day Itinerary is designed for travellers who want to experience several sides of the island in one well-paced journey. From ancient landmarks and cool hill country to tropical beaches and lively city streets, the route brings together Sri Lanka’s culture, scenery and coastal charm without making the trip feel rushed.
The journey begins with some of the country’s most memorable cultural experiences. Spend time around Kandy, visit the famous Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, and head north for the impressive Sigiriya Rock Fortress and Dambulla Cave Temple. These historic sites add a strong heritage element to the trip and offer a glimpse into Sri Lanka’s ancient past.
The scenery changes as you move towards Nuwara Eliya, where tea-covered hills, cooler weather and colonial-era surroundings create a completely different atmosphere. Time here includes local highlights such as Gregory Lake, Victoria Park, Sita Eliya Temple and Pedro Tea Estate. You’ll also take an excursion to Ella, known for dramatic landscapes, waterfalls and viewpoints including Ravana Falls and Little Adam’s Peak.
After the hills, the itinerary slows down along the coast in Bentota. Spend time enjoying the relaxed beach setting, visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery and discover the traditional cinnamon-making process at Cinnamon Island. It’s a refreshing contrast to the cultural and mountain experiences earlier in the journey.
The final stop is Colombo, where modern city life meets colonial architecture and seaside landmarks. Explore places such as Independence Square, Galle Face Green, Viharamahadevi Park and the Old Parliament Building before completing your journey.

Day Wise Itinerary
It is about 90km from Colombo and after you have fun playing with the elephants, we’ll head to Kandy to the hotel. We’ll check-in and let you rest for the night in Kandy.

- • We can only facilitate the visa application for the travelling passengers. Granting of visa is solely at the discretion of Embassy. If visa is rejected or delayed by the Embassy for any reason then we are not liable to give any refund and respective cancellation policies will apply.
Airline seats and hotel rooms are subject to availability at the time of confirmation. Seat selection and room allocation (including room number, floor, view, and proximity of rooms) are determined by the airline/hotel and cannot be guaranteed.In case of unavailability in the listed hotels, arrangement for an alternate accommodation will be made in a hotel of similar standard.

If your stay falls on special dates (like 24th December, 31st December, 14th February, etc.) when hotel organize gala dinner, then there may be mandatory Gala Dinner Charges additional that you need to pay at the hotel directly.
