Classic Bhutan Highlands & Valleys Road Trip
Tour Overview
Get ready for a classic 5-day, 4-night Phuentsholing Thimphu Paro tour package through the mountain kingdom of Bhutan. Starting from the border town of Phuentsholing, you will climb into the cool mountain air of the Himalayas, with your representative assisting on route permit processing upon arrival. Spend your first evening exploring the local shops of Phuentsholing.
The next morning, drive to Thimphu, the capital city, watching the landscape change as you climb higher into the green hills. In the evening, visit Tashi Chho Dzong, an impressive fortress-monastery housing offices of the King. The following day is dedicated to exploring Thimphu's treasures: the Memorial Chorten, the massive Buddha Statue overlooking the valley, the Takin Zoo, the National Library, Folk Heritage Museum, a local handmade paper factory, and Coronation Park, with free time at Clock Tower Square.
From Thimphu, the trip moves to Paro, where you'll explore Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong), the Ta Dzong National Museum, the Paro Penlop Heritage Farmhouse, the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, and the ancient Kyichu Lhakhang temple, ending with a complimentary traditional dinner at your resort.
This practical, well-paced private tour is designed to show you Bhutan's highlights without any rush.
